Faulk's mind made him special

Champion of the First Amendment, Texas folklorist John Henry Faulk had a budding career as actor, radio-tv talk show host snatched from him when he was blacklisted during the national anti-communist hysteria of the McCarthy era. While others gave in, John Henry fought back. He was vindicated by a jury some years later, but was never able to recoup his bid as the new Will Rogers/Mark Twain.
